*PR EVENT / *PR TILAISUUS by tallink Silja Line

This post is an informative journalistic coverage of a PR event with editorial & reportage elements that do not aim to promote any business, organisation, product or service.

Today - on the day of publication- I'm a member of Ruokatoimittajat ry (Finnish Food Writers' Association) and attended this PR event as a food writer (not as an influencer).

7 MAY 2024 - Helsinki, finland

I visited the Olympic Terminal in the heart of Helsinki on this sunny afternoon to be part of a flavour-filled journey across Europe - while staying on board of Silja Serenade. Our "tour-guide" on this special journey were the company's in-house experts who brought us the new selection of Tallink Silja Line Ship’s Wines and Beers.

Only the best wines and beers to be awarded by Tallink Silja's special label and being served onboard for passengers, at the ship's prestigious dining tables, hotels, onshore restaurants and online stores. Hence, the selection process was taken seriously and included the blind tasting by an extensive panel of sommeliers, wine and beer experts and restaurant managers across the company.

The exclusive collection of 5 private label wines and 2 craft beers from Europe’s choice producers are already available from early May over the next two years - so you can taste them during your upcoming trips and find your own favourites! These are mine:

Weingut Frey Grenzhügel Riesling Organic

This wonderfully crisp and mineral Riesling’s citrus hints complimented the deep-fried cod, wasabi mayonnaise and deep-fried cauliflower.

Villa Paradiso Chianti Organic

Beautifully bold but velvety smooth Tuscan wine with red fruit hints that worked beautifully with the beef rigatoni.

Põhjala Must Kuld 7,8%

This dark beer can be a dessert on its own with its richness and delicate hints of dark chocolate and espresso, but it was a fantastic experience to enjoy along with the dark chocolate fondant and blood orange sorbet.

I had the pleasure to attend this PR event, where we enjoyed a complex tasting menu with the entire selection of the new Tallink Silja Line Ship’s Wines and Beers, along with matching dishes. We also had the opportunity to hear the stories of the fantastic people behind the selected wineries and breweries, in addition to getting insights into the selection process from Annamari Nikkel, Wine category manager for Tallink Duty Free.
